In Memory of Glen Robert Scharf lost to Agent Orange 1978.
Glen Robert Scharf was a sgt. in the United States Marine Corps from 1965-1971. One of 12 children of an Irish widow Glen Robert Scharf joined the Marines to get out of Detroit.
In 1971 Glen was sent home from the Vietnam and the Marines happy and healthy to start a family.
In 1973 Glen reported being sick. In 1974 Glen’s son Gregory was born.
In 1976 he was admitted to the hospital and on Sept. 6, 1978 Glenn Robert Scharf passed away.
In a letter from then Michigan governor, James L. Blanchard, stated that Glen met all the Agent Orange requirement and the Agent Orange Veteran Payment Program awarded survivor payments.
