In Memory of Mary V. Bender lost to Agent Orange 2002.

Mary V. Bender enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps Feb. 8, 1962.
Mary was in Vietnam 1968-1970.

She was in the WAC for 9 years. Mary helped keep hold a military post from being over run by Viet Cong. “Miss Bender has engergetically and tirelessly given of herself…. in sensitive counterespionage operations of the 66th Military Intelligence Group.”

On Feb. 9, 1967 she was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer. Mary was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran.

Mary Bender passed away January 10, 2002 from Agent Orange related respiratory problems. Her ashes are entombed at Arlington National Cemetery and she a received full military honor service.
