Thomas J. Peyton lost to Agent Orange in 2001. Only 54 years old, two weeks after he died he received a letter in the mail saying what he had told so many people all along who just agreed with him to make him happy, that Agent Orange caused his Type II Diabetes Mellitus, amongst other damage that just comes from having diabetes.

The local VFW would not give him military honors at his funeral because I did not give enough notice, another VFW wanted $250 to do it. The social worker at the Veterans Hospital told me “Good luck with him” when he was sick and needed help.

For a man who was proud of serving his country, in return this is what he received. Well I know the proud person you were and I make sure your memory lives on and all the great things you did!
